Experiences with Heavy Fuel-Oil Firing in a Steam Reformer

The primaryʹ object of this article is to report on the experience gained during 7 years of operation of a top-fired primary reformer using heavy fuel oil. Experiences using this kind of fuel are very rare because very few installations worldwide are prepared to use it. In addition, some information on the background of the plant on the plant modifications carried out will he given.
