  • Abstract
The aim of this work is to study temperature dependence of light yield of (Lux-Y1−x)AlO3:Ce (LuYAP) scintillation crystals with 50% and 70% Lu content in (Lu-Y) system. Temperature dependence of a scintillation crystal light yield is an important characteristic defining, in particular, range of its application. For extreme applications such as well logging, cerium activated perovskite crystals (RE)AlO3:Ce, where RE is Lu and Y, seem to be a good choice at least due to excellent mechanical and chemical properties. The results obtained during researches allow to state, that the temperature behavior of these crystals is an additional argument for the benefit of their application in extreme conditions. The measurements were carried out in temperature range from 20 to 160 °C. The obtained data are compared to those for Lu2SiO5:Ce (LSO) crystals. Experimental setup is described and results of the study are discussed.
