Abstract
We describe the simple unfolding procedure to recover the incident neutron energy spectrum from data measured with a 6LiF-based cryogenic neutron spectrometer. The simple response function combined with the excellent energy resolution greatly simplifies the recovery of the neutron energy spectrum. Unfolding methods for conventional neutron detectors such as 3He and NE-213 scintillator spectrometers are described and compared to the unfolding procedure for 6LiF-based cryogenic neutron spectrometers. The unfolding of a 252Cf spectrum measured with a cryogenic neutron detector is presented.
