Abstract
Present study is mainly focused on the performance of Air-Sparged Hydrocyclone (ASH) in comparison with conventional notation treating Indian coking coal fines of size less than 0.5 mm. Two different coal fines were used for the study. Efficacy of ASH was examined by studying the effect of inlet slurry pressure, air flowrate, underflow opening, vortex finder diameter and length of the ASH. It has been noted that ASH requires multi stage flotation to achieve comparable metallurgical performance with conventional flotation.
