Abstract :
Vapor pressures and the standard molar enthalpies of vaporization ΔlgHm° of the linear aliphatic aldehydes C6, C8–C14 (hexanal, octanal, nonanal, decanal, undecanal, dodecanal, tridecanal, and tetradecanal) have been determined by the transpiration method. A linear correlation of enthalpies of vaporization ΔlgHm° at 298.15 K of the aldehydes with the number of C atoms has been found.
