Performance of the plant growth models of the special collaborative project 179 with respect to winter wheat

In the Special Collaborative Project 179 (SCP), a plant model has been developed as a submodel of a comprehensive site model called SIMULAT. The mathematical structure of this plant model is briefly presented. Then, the link of the plant model with other submodels of SIMULAT is discussed. The plant model has been calibrated for winter wheat data from 1989. Afterwards, it has been applied to data of several years which have been obtained from another investigation site of the same catchment. Model results and data are compared.
