Abstract
The data on carbon-flow measured by Richey et al. (1978, Science, 202: 1183–1186) in three oligotrophic lakes and one eutrophic lake are employed to calculate various flow-indices in these lakes. Information theoretical indices, ascendency-related indices and indices in input-output flow analysis are calculated and compared. Some pertinent indices discriminating between oligotrophy and eutrophy are obtained.
