Influence of the presence of poly(oxymethylene) on the pyrolysis oil from poly(vinyl chloride)

The thermal decomposition of poly(oxymethylene) and poly(oxymethylene)–poly(vinyl chloride) mixture has been studied by thermogravimetry and gas chromatography–mass spectrometry. It has been found that the pyrolysis oil from the mixture, originating from the second stage of a two-stage decomposition ((1) evolution of HCl and (2) pyrolysis of solid residue) contains no organochlorine compounds and no pyrolysis products of poly(oxymethylene).
