MODEL FOR MELTING OF DIRECT REDUCED IRON IN ELECTRIC ARC FURNACE

Based on carbon and carbon equivalent of the alloying elements, weldability map has been developed for low alloy steels. and the preheat temperature contours have been drawn using Seferian type of equation. Considering the heat flow, the heat input and the preheat temperature of the weld plate are related and transferred to the weldability map to include the heat input values and the cooling time contours in the map.
