Assessing the Impact of Information Technology in Creating Organizational Knowledge: A Study on Iran Central Bank

In studies of knowledge management and organizational knowledge, IT is considered as major and essential enabler. Its twofold research; first we define important factors for the evaluation of knowledge management in economics statistical department of central bank in Iran using Rao model. Second, we evaluate the impact of IT in knowledge management creation in the organization. The result of hypothesizes test show that the organization is passed the stage of creating knowledge and the knowledge sharing stage is initiating. Furthermore, sharing knowledge is in a desirable situation in the organization. Considering the role of IT, the results show a direct and significant relation between the application of IT and knowledge creation. With this regards, there are some factors that need to be taken into accounts such as the achieving of employees with new technologies, aligning knowledge management with IT and interaction of costumers with organization via IT. Such factors can be reached by the positive attitude of organizational management towards IT and cooperation of all employees.
