Abstract
Monthly production of tea can be varied in every month. Monthly tea production is depending on
number of condition such as weather condition and climate of the country. Sri Lanka plays a
major role in the world tea market by producing high quality tea in the Country. Main purpose of
this study is to find the most favourable month and monsoon season for tea production in Sri
Lanka and find out which month and monsoon is a favour for the tea production in Sri Lanka.
Data on the tea monthly production from the year 2008 to 2012 was collected for this study
purpose. The last result shown that month of May and first inter monsoon season are the best
period for Sri Lankan tea production. Finally, researcher suggests that, Sri Lankan government
should give much concern and focus to motivate and produce tea in the month of May or in first
inter monsoon season.
