Abstract :
The purpose of this study is to critically examine the influence of supplier responsiveness, supplier facility, and geographic location in relation to its impact on socialisation mechanism and supplier performance improvement. The regression results demonstrate that all the contingent predictors seem to have influence socialisation mechanisms. The results show the magnitudes of independent variables are positively a significant influencer of supplier performance. The empirical finding partially supports the hypothesis that socialisation mechanisms mediate the relationship between RES, FAC, GLOC and supplier performance albeit purchasing executives discernment in Nigerian context from the perspectives of small and medium scale enterprises. It is clear in this regard that socialisation mechanism is an integral platform in the exchange parties coupling behaviour and to a larger extent determines the performance success and failure of a firm if not carefully managed. How do successful clusters impact on geographic proximity in micro, small and medium scale enterprises in recognising sectoral contribution and differences deserves more attention? Other factor may still explain the relationship in the model that were not yet explored, future research could take up the challenge of identifying other factors not accounted for in this study due to its limitation in scope and coverage. Future research could prolifically be built by extending this study in different context and philosophical perspectives.
