Abstract
Water is the only element that is much more abundant than that of any other element on our
planet, earth. It plays a central role in all aspects of life – in the national environment, in our
economies, in food security, in production, in politics. The shortage in the supply and access
to water has only recently taken significant place in global reflection as a serious and
threatening phenomenon. The present study focuses on the water conflict between two
atomic power nations – India and Pakistan – arising from monster of water politics. After
partition of British India and distribution of its physical resources, all sources of rivers came
under the control of India as it was upper riparian territory thus Pakistan became lower
riparian state. These both nations had plunged into water conflict immediately after birth of
Pakistan. Since that time water conflict became an unsolvable dispute that led both nations
towards weak relationships and degraded politics.
