Manufacturing Practices: Impact on Manufacturing Capabilities and Performance

Highly integrated and implementation of adequately reliable manufacturing will impact on manufacturing capabilities and in turn leveraged business performances. Revising relevant survey instruments for the benefit of investigating project performances of micro bakery SMEs low-tech or traditional manufacturing outfit due to scant literature in such direction and exploring greater insights in the relationship between manufacturing practices, manufacturing capabilities and firm performance is inevitable. Therefore, to address this concern, this study developed a concept facilitating an atmosphere where manufacturing practices aid in improved performance vis-à-vis cut time overrun, lower cost and eliminate wastages. The results support conceptualization and findings that proper implementation of manufacturing capabilities mediate the relationship between manufacturing practices and firm performance in the context of micro/cottage SME performance improvement.
