Abstract
The universal equations of Laplaceʹs second law or Youngʹs equation and interface binding characteristic (energy) E for the relevant condensed phases in a system of condensed matter are studied. This theory shows that the values of the contact angle θ, the surface energy σx, and the interface surface energy σsx etc. for the condensed phases decrease and that the Esx term increases with decreasing dimension; and obviously that cos θ >cosθ∞ and Esx > Esx∞. Based on the theory, some new types of diamond including novel polycrystalline diamonds having special interface binding state have been obtained.
