Abstract :
Molybdenum sulfide clusters were incorporated into FAU zeolite through saturation adsorption of Mo(CO)6 at room temperature followed by a reaction with H2S gas. Using electron microscopy, it was confirmed that the clusters were formed in the supercages of the zeolite without destroying the framework structure. Rietveld analysis of the powder X-ray diffraction pattern suggested that the clusters were formed along the belts which consist of two 4-rings of hexagonal prisms and bridging 4-ring, and are surrounding the supercage.
