Abstract
A polycrystalline aluminium specimen is rolled to 30% reduction and the local orientations in the vicinity of grain boundaries have been measured by a fast method in transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The results show that the TEM method makes it possible to correlate morphology of dislocation structures with local orientations. The effect of interaction between neighboring grains results in morphological differences of dislocation structure both between the grain boundary region and the grain interior; and between regions along the grain boundary. The morphological differences in the dislocation structure correlate well with the orientation perturbations which appear both near grain boundaries and in the grain interior.
