Abstract
The effect of alloy compositions such as Al, Sn and O on the properties of Ti–15–3 (Ti–15V–3Cr–3Sn–3Al) alloy was investigated through analyzing different ingots in this paper. An extensive investigation was carried out on the effect of the Al equivalent concentration on the α-phase precipitation behavior during aging, and the relationship of aging temperature and time with the mechanical properties of the Ti–15–3 alloy. Thus, an aging heat treatment was selected as 520°C for 10 h and air cooling to optimize the mechanical properties. In addition, the control of α-stabilizer elements in the alloy was discussed.
