  • Abstract
    The goal of this work is to assess and model the influence of precipitates on plastic anisotropy in two-phase aluminium alloys. For this purpose, binary Al-Cu alloys were processed to obtain a strong crystallographic texture. Compression and tension specimens were tested in either the as-solution-heat-treated or near-peak-aged condition. A model based on kinematic hardening concepts was developed to quantitatively describe the plastic behavior of materials containing hard precipitates such as θ′ in Al-Cu alloys. This model was validated by the experimental results.
