Abstract :
Simple shear tests of Fe-30% Al single crystals were performed in order to measure the critical resolved shear stresses (CRSSʹs) for {110} (111) slip and {112} (111}slip independently and without superimposed normal stresses on the slip planes. The temperature dependence of the CRSSʹs for slip on {110}was found to be similar to that of the CRSSʹs observed in compression. For a detailed study of dislocation micromechanics to explain the plastic deformation behavior of Fe-30% Al, discussion is given on the anisotropy of APB energies and that of the elastic compliance constants referred to the respective slip planes.
