Abstract :
Combining hydrogen enrichment, segregation to grain boundaries and their effects on surface and plastic energies, a model was developed to predict threshold stress intensity factor for hydrogen induced intergranular cracking. For a tubular steel, the calculated KIH/KIC is 0.34 while the experimentally determined value is 0.32, which is fairly consistent with the theoretical value.
