Abstract
The regularities of a jump-like plastic flow of polycrystalline titanium with different oxygen impurity concentration (0.06–0.6 at.%) are studied at temperatures 0.5–50 K. The data were compared with the results of low-temperature yield stress anomaly. A clear correlation between manifestations of both low-temperature peculiarities of plasticity was established. It points to the generality of their physical nature. Interpretation of anomalies based on assumption about the influence of inertial properties of dislocations on the process of their motion through impurity barriers was proposed.
