Abstract :
The regular lamellar eutectic growth is simulated by Monte-Carlo (MC) method. The growth velocity R is evaluated from the solid–liquid (S–L) interface configuration. The relation between the calculated lamellar spacing λ and R shows a good consistence with the Jackson–Hunt (JH) theory when R is not very low; the calculated λ2R decreases with decreasing R, when R is fairly low, which supports the universal scaling relationship between λ and R. The simulated composition in front of the S–L interface shows a clear spatial oscillation around the average composition c0, and the composition oscillation decays significantly with increasing distance from the S–L interface.
