Abstract :
TaN/C(carbon microcoils)/TaN composite microcoils/microtubes and pure TaN microcoils/microtubes were prepared by the vapor phase diffusion treatment (tentalizing and nitriding) of the carbon microcoils. The preparation conditions, morphologies and some properties of the microcoils/microtubes were examined. The carbon microcoils were completely modified to the TaN microcoils/microtubes by the treatment at 1200 °C for 20 h. The bulk electrical resistivity and specific surface area of the TaN microcoils/microtubes were 0.1–0.02 Ω cm and 5 m2 g−1, respectively.
