Abstract
We show here that the disorder-induced giant magnetoresistance (GMR) in GaAsGa0.7Al0.3As superlattices is essentially temperature independent (variation, approximately 10%) in the temperature range 90–300 K. We also show that the dependence of the GMR on the angle between the magnetic field and the superlattice growth axis is simply related to the angular dependence of the longitudinal field component. The GMR in semiconductor superlattices is compared and contrasted with that in layered metallic structures.
