Abstract :
In this paper we describe and review the synthesis of polycrystalline and single-crystal Pb2Sr2Y0.5Ca0.5Cu3O8+δ and the structure and charge localization in the Pb2Sr2YCu3O8+δ system. The status of initial work on the growth of thin films in this family is also briefly summarized.
