Using linear assignment technique in internal environment analysis

The achievements of the advanced world have shown than to create basic change in people, groups, organizations and generally societies, how much universities and university play important role. Indeed, university is the position of thought and university can have crucial role to solve the routine problems and achieving future ideals and goals of national development. The most important principle of management in current world is strategic planning. To achieve this goal, strategic committee in educational department of one of state universities is formed. The main purpose of this research work is to analyze the internal environment of educational department. Therefore, at the beginning, strengths and weaknesses of each of educational sectors were identified using conducted interview. In the next step, experts were asked to rank them. These ranks were integrated using linear assignment technique and eventually relative ranks of strengths and weaknesses of each sector were obtained. Educational department can complete its strategic plan having SWOT matrix and weaknesses’ and strengths’ priorities of each sector. This paper has been approached to provide a brief report of formulizing strategic plan in educational department of case university.
