Abstract
Mixed crystals of ammonium dihydrogen phosphate (ADP) and potassium dihydrogen phosphate (KDP) have been grown from 19 different compositions by restricted evaporation of solvent at 308 K. The morphology of the crystals changes from tetragonal prism to needles when the concentration of either of the components approaches that of the other. Crystal composition was determined by X-ray diffraction methods. Variation in microhardness and optical transmittance of the grown mixed crystals with composition has been studied.
