Abstract
Fullerite single crystals were prepared by vapor transport growth in an open tube. Detailed characterization of the technique was conducted and different experimental configurations and growth conditions were tested. The method is simple and allows the production of millimeter-size, high quality single crystals which were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction and optical spectroscopy.
