Abstract :
Electrical conductivity of protonated polyaniline has been measured with both direct and alternating currents. According to the AC impedance diagrams solution casted PANI salt has a very high capacitance value compared with PANI melt processed into non-conducting polymer matrices. The difference can be attributed to the level of distribution of the conducting fibrils and particles having high conductivity and capacitance. In both cases the equivalent circuit, which describes the conduction behaviour of the material, is composed from a parallel resistor- capacitor circuit in series with a resistor.
