Abstract :
Polythiophene and poly(3-methylthiophene) films doped with iodine were studied by the application of 129I-Mِssbauer spectroscopy. The iodine in these films was found to be in the forms of triiodide and pentaiodide. The abundance ratios of these species vary with the doping level. Polythiophene doped with FeCl3 was also studied by 57Fe-Mِssbauer spectroscopy and only FeCl4 was found in polythiophene.
