Abstract :
Conducting polymer composites of poly(3-alkylthiophene) and poly(2,5-dialkoxy-p-phenylene vinylene) (RO-PPV/PAT) and of poly(3-alkylthiophene) and poly(9,9-dialkylfluorene) (PDAF/PAT) were prepared. Electrical conductivity of RO-PPV/PAT decreases and its activation energy increases remarkably with increasing RO-PPPV concentration above 60 %. Similar concentration dependence was also observed in PDAF/PAT. Photoluminescence of the composites also exhibited unique concentration dependence. In these composites quenching effect of the photoluminescence by PAT was observed. These unique results were explained in terms of electronic energy states of PAT, RO-PPV and PDAF.
