Abstract :
Poly(p-phenylenevinylene-co-2,5-thienylenevinylene) [poly(PV-co-TV)] was prepared by the reaction of p-bis(methylenedimethysulfoniumchloride)phenylene(BMSP) and 2,5-bis(methylenedimethyl-sulfoniumchloride) thiophene(BMST) by the modified sulfonium polyelectrolyte precursor route. The synthesized precursor copolymer and final conjugated copolymer were characterized by IR, UV, GPC and EA. The electrical conductivities of poly(PV-co-TV) ranged from 10−11 to 10−9 Scm−1, depending on the composition of monomer in copolymer. The absorption maximum of poly(PV-co-TV) appeared at 440nm.
