Abstract :
The synthesis of a new conjugated poly(arylenevinylene) that appears to be regioregular as shown by NMR is described. The bromo-substituted precursor polymer is apparently more stable as a result of the regular conjugated structure. It can readily be converted into the conjugated polymer by dehydrohalogenation.
