Abstract
Novel conjugated ionic polymers were synthesized and characterized. The monomers includes mono-, di-, and tri-propargylammonium bromides such as HCCCH2+NH3Br−, HCCCH2+N(CH3)2(CH2PH)Br−, (HCCCH2)2+NH2Br−, and (HCCCH2)3+NHBr−. These monomers were easily polymerized by PdCl2, PtCl2, and RuCl3 to give a high yield of polymer. The polymer structures were characterized by elemental analysis, NMR and IR spectroscopies to have a highly conjugated system. The electrical conductivities of iodine-doped ionic polymers increased with doping level and reached the value of 10−3 ∼ 10−2Ω−1cm−1.
