Existence and stability of polaronic clusters in disordered conducting polymers

In a disordered conducting polymer, the presence of dopant counterions is responsible for the existence of collective polaronic states. We present a variational calculation of the stability of a polaronic cluster of N carries sitting on Mc chains linked by N dopant counterions.
