Abstract
The Kondo effect in a repulsively interacting electron system in 1D (Tomonaga-Luttinger liquid) is found to be qualitatively different from that in 3D. (1) The Kondo coupling flows to strong-coupling regime not only for antiferromagnetic (AF) but also for ferromagnetic (F) case. Above the Kondo temperature TK the temperature dependence of the physical quantities is similar to that of usual Kondo effect in the AF case, but the nonmonotonic behavior is expected for the F case. (2) Specific heat, susceptibility, and conductance show characteristic power-law temperature dependence for T << TK.
