Preparation and characterization of fullerene and poly (p-methyl)phenyl methacrylate Langmuir-Blodgett films

Surface pressure-area isotherms of Langmuir-Blodgett films of fullerene/poly(p-methyl)phenyl methacrylate mixed films were measured at the air-water interface. Monolayer characteristics of mixed films has been investigated on the effects of temperature and mole fraction change. Transfer characteristics of mixed LB films deposited on Si and quartz substrates by the vertical and horizontal dipping methods and the spectroscopic characteristics by elllipsometry, UV, contact angle measurements, and quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) measurements suggested that the multilayer films are relatively compact and well-ordered.
