Abstract :
The ultraviolet polarizability of spherical and cylindrical multishell fullerenes is considered in a continuum macroscopic dielectric framework and within a discrete dipole approximation. We studied the position and the shape variation of the collective π-plasmon excitation as a function of the shape of the hollow cluster. The results are compared with available experimental data.
