Abstract :
Anodic oxidation of the spiro[4,9′-fluorenyl]-2,6-diphenylthiopyran at potential more anodic than 1.85 V (ref: Ag/0.1 M (Ag+, NO3poststaggered−) in CH3CN) leads to the coating of the anode by an insoluble electroactive material, which is described as a polyphenylene matrix substituted by thiopyrylium or thiopyran functions depending on the oxidation state.
