Abstract
Recent studies have shown that photochemical conversion of poly-p-paraphenylene vinylene (PPV) is easily achieved. In this work, photoconversion is optimized by monitoring the substrate temperature and the duration of the illumination period by means of the UV-Vis absorption. Significant differences in optical absorption, Raman scattering are observed between the optimized photoconverted PPV and the fully thermally converted one.
