Abstract
The ladder-type Poly(paraphenylene) m-LPPP is a very suitable conjugated polymer for application in electroluminescence (EL) devices. We report on the dependence of the photoluminescence on applied electric fields and discuss the observed quenching effects in terms of current induced quenching and field induced quenching of the emitting species. The field dependent PL measurements were used to quantify the field induced dissociation of the emitting species and to obtain an estimate of the binding energy of singlet excitons in the m-LPPP polymer
