Study in the preparation of unsymmetrical π-donors of TTF type containing hydrogen atoms on one side of the molecule

Three asymmetric tetrathiafulvalenes 1a, 1b and 1c, derivatives of BEDO-TTF or TMTSF and containing two hydrogen atoms, have been prepared using different strategies. Series of radical cation salts obtained from these donors are described; the results of electrical conductivity and, in certain cases, the crystal structure of these salts are presented.
