Abstract
We report the X-ray crystal and molecular structure of the extremely weak CDW system [Pt(chxn)2I2][Pt(chxn)2]I4 at 298 K and 123 K. The temperature and pressure dependent resonance Raman are also presented. It is shown that increasing pressure and decreasing temperature drive the MX chain to a stronger CDW, in contrast to most MX systems. A structural explanation is given.
