Abstract
The electrical conductance of a mesoscopic normal metal/charge density wave/normal metal (N/C/N) heterostructure is calculated. Geometrical resonances due to quantum interference are predicted in the quasi-particle transmission probability. At low temperatures the collective CDW motion is dissipative only in the vicinity of the contacts. The mechanism of current conversion can be understood in analogy with Andreev reflection at normal/superconductor interfaces.
