Abstract :
Photoinduced charge transfer and excitation can cause the bond distortion in C60. The dynamical process of the bond distortion can be studied by analysing the normal vibrational modes. It is found that the Hg mode dominates the bond relaxation and determines the relaxation time. This feature suggests the possibility to invoke the mode-selective chemical reaction.
