Abstract :
The infrared spectral properties and the d.c. electrical conductivity of the (TTM-TTF)Cu2Br4.72 (TTM-TTF = tetra(methylthio)-tetrathiafulvalene) charge transfer salt are investigated. It is shown that the salt containing polymeric counter anions and mixed valence states undergoes phase transition at about 200 K. This transition is induced by the redistribution of the charges. This effect leads to the changes of the electronic structure and intramolecular interactions of the donor molecules, in particular.
