Synthesis and optical properties of thienylene-dialkoxy phenylene copolymers.

Polymers in which the chain unit contains one dialkoxyphenylene and from one to three thienylene nuclei, were selectively prepared by the coupling reaction of thienylstannanes derivatives and substituted dibromobenzene. These polymers exhibited interesting electrochromism and electroluminescent properties.
