Abstract
Polyvinylene disulfide (-S-CH=CH-S-)n was synthesized from (E)-1,2 dithiocyanathoethene and doped by protic acids to afford conducting materials with conductivity values as high as 10−2 Scm−1. The development of an important ESR activity was induced by the doping process while SQUID measurements revealed a decrease of the susceptibility with increasing doping level. A two step charge transfer is proposed to explain the doping process by protic acids of the polymer.
