Studies on electroluminescent 3,3′-substituted biphenyls.

A series of compounds based on biphenyl structures, which show a low tendency to crystallize and exhibit electroluminescence is introduced. Investigations on their properties as light emitting layer in combination with different phthalocyanines as hole transport layer in organic light emitting diodes are presented.
